"Why do you always have to come back naked?"
"You make it sound like I do it intentionally."
"You don't?"
"No!"
Daniel sighed. "Do you think I like showing up in random places naked?"
"Well... yeah."
"Why would I do that?"
"Let's
face it Danny, you did spend a lot of time in the gym over the years to buff up....and really, having bulging muscles? Doesn't
work for the geek image."
"Why would I want to keep the geek image?"
"Cause you had a girl on every planet after
you?"
Daniel smiled wistfully. "Oh yeah, I totally did..."
The other man coughed politely to pull him out of
his stupor. "You know, you still haven't answered my question..."
"Right. What was it again?"
"Why do you always
have to come back naked?"
"Maybe Oma likes it like that?"
"I doubt it."
"Are you saying I'm not good
enough for her?"
"Uh, no..."
"Cause I totally am, you know."
"Right, right. Of course." Jack paused.
"But, seriously, what's with the naked thing?"
"I'm not sure."
"Do you think that, next time, you could, I don't
know, maybe ask Oma to ensure that you come back with clothes?"
"Uh... why?"
"Cause I don't need to see that
much of you."
Daniel was almost tempted to pout. He hadn’t spent hours upon hours lifting weights only to be
told that he wasn’t the next Adonis naked… “Would you say that to everyone or is it just me?”
“I’d
say it to anyone.”
“Even Sam?”
“Of course.”
“Really?”
“No.”
It
wasn’t really a victory, but Daniel still grinned like he’d won something.
